High/ JUNIOR HIGH presentations

WHY ANIMALS MATTER

This presentation focuses on the many ways animals factor into society and their associated implications. This talk examines a range of issues, including animal agriculture, the fashion industry, entertainment and captive display industry, and animal testing for consumer products and medical research. Students will better understand and appreciate the animals with which we share our world and how the humane care of animals is a societal responsibility and ultimately, why animals matter. An overview of several key issues relevant to animals will be provided so that students leave feeling empowered to make more informative and conscientious choices as consumers.

THE FACTORY FARM

This popular presentation focuses on intensive animal agriculture, otherwise known as "factory farming" and its implications for animal welfare, the environment and human health. Students learn where the majority of their (animal) food comes from, how it was produced and its associated impacts. This presentation always creates a great deal of discussion and debate.

Both multi-media presentations are typically 45 minutes in length and consist of a PowerPoint presentation that includes video footage, followed by a question and answer period. There are various materials for distribution to students at the end of each presentation.
